Ego, she's a shadow,
She follows you and me;
She's cruel and follows everyone,
Except the humble, She spares none;
Walking thro' the woods, early dawn,
Of course with the Ego following me;
Midway I stopped suddenly,
For smiling at me was a wild rose;
The Dewdrop on the wild rose petal
Added to the flowers's beauty, shining,
Brightly as if a diamond,
As the Sun's rays fell on it;
Suddenly my Ego asked the Dewdrop,
"Why hurting the petal, are you,"
It has done no harm to you,
Soft she is, why are you so harsh?"
The Dewdrop answered"
"Not hurting the rose I'm,
But making others happy,"
Filling their hearts with joy
And only a few moments for me to fade away;"
He continued,
"it's you who are hurting others"
By your fiery glance and words;
The greatest sin on Earth,
Is to break a heart;"
As I gazed on, the dewdrop vanished,
Leaving me and my Ego in a trance;
To ponder over the truth,
Revealed by the little dewdrop;
Yes, ashamed she was, the Ego,
For having been so cruel;
Tears rolling down her cheeks,
She knelt down praying:
O Lord,
"Just as the dewdrop had faded away,
As the Sun's rays fell on it,
Let me also wither away,
Never to be born again."
Hiding behind the red-tinged clouds,
Was the charming Golden Boy, the Sun:
Playing hide-and-seek with Father, the Clouds;
And mischievously reaching out to his Mother, the Ocean;
To fall upon her lap and go to sleep,
feeling that gentle, warm touch:
To rise again at dawn next day,
And to wake up all life on Earth.
Moonlit night it was,
Deep slumber everyone in;
But she alone was awake,
Yes, the lonely nightingale she was.
The moonlight silvered the leaves,
The cool breeze rattled them;
How beautiful you are,
Oh Nature!she whispered.
Neither friends nor foes had she,
Loved she, everyone and everything;
For her heart had no space,
But for passion and sympathy.
She loved the brook, the breeze,
The grass, the dewdrop, she adored;
Fascinated her, the blue skies,
The green waters thrilled her;
Overflowed with music, her mind,
The melody of flute made her ecstatic;
But the tinge of sorrow in her heart,
Who could explain, but her Lord?
The pain and agony was overwhelming,
Hit by arrows of words and deeds;
Suffered she evrything,
Just by the boon of fortitude;
She smiled unfailingly, but
At times, the smile vanished, then
Was the shining tear drops in her eyes
The light in the path of her Beloved?
Her eyes strained to meet Him,
Though He was in her eyes;
She sang in her sweet voice calling Him,
Unknowingly, that He was her song;
The long waiting of hers was futile,
her Lord didn't turn up;
But she still waits and sings for Him,
With a burning deisre to meet Him;
So He has to come and,
Bring Spring into her winter of Life;
For h eis nothing, but an Ocean of Melody,
And She, the waves of Rhythm.
Where did I find those
Two bright shining diamonds?
When did I see those
Big sparkling gazing eyes
The place I don't remember,
But it was not a mountain nor a desert;
The time I have forgotten,
Neither early dawn nor late twilight;
But one thing I'm sure,
There was a sea of emotions in them;
Full of love and affection,
Yet piercing my heart;
Whenever they met mine,
A lightning flashed across
My heart and piercing it went ,
Into my so called pride;
Was I dazzled a bit,
By its beauty and brightness?
Surely for my mind was wavering,
Which I thought was steady.
But then came a high tide,
And the wind roared with all its might,
Calmness and serenity lost
It was full of terror and hatred.
Slowly, I realized the truth,
Pacified my mind saying,
The serenity is not forever,
To be lost in its charm is futile;
But now the terror is gone,
Hatred has just faded away;
A silent gloom is there,
Grief that puts one to pain;
So I pray to the Lord,
"Give back the love and affection
To those wonderful gazing eyes",
For comforting a disheartened Soul!!
Why are you drifting, Oh! my Heart!
Like the snow white clouds in the sky:
You were firm and strong like a rock,
But now, you're melting like ice;
From where has this flame leapt up?
With only a flickering candle besides you:
The pain in my heart is killing me,
Now knowing how to escape;
Oh Mind! Don't drift away,
For the pain and agony, sure
Will drench the path you have chosen,
With tears of blood, of the dear ones!!
Thick white clouds floated across the sky,
Hustling and bustling wind blowed down the valley;
Tingling golden waters of the brook flowed down,
Over the mountain top was the golden crown;
By the bank of the brook, on an evening I sat,
Watching the shining waters striking the pebbles;
Listening to the chirping of sparrows and fluttering wings of pigeons;
Then my mind raced down the lane of golden memories,
I fel into the mesmerizing pool of bygone years;
First day to school, crying all along the way,
The days filled with fun, full of work and play;
Last year at school, all those strenuous days,
Stepping into college, full of excitement,
Completing the course, heart filled with satisfaction;
Many cherished dreams and unfulfilled ambitions,
Embarassing experiences and bitter truths,
Later came some bright sunny days,
Making the heart warm and light;
Bringing all the fragrance of spring,
Into my soul of cold winter;
Alas! The hooting of an owl woke me up,
Astonished was I, as tears rolled down my cheeks,
The Moon had risen in the far horizon
Shining brightly with all its beauty and charm;
Slowly I got up, heart heavy with grief,
And trotted down the path, back home !!
Walking along the country side,
On a sunny day, by the road side;
Standing beneath a tree,
Was a woman, not so charming;
Like clouds masking the moon,
Her face hidden in a torn veil;
Slowly, I walked towards her,
Her face pale and lips dry;
With a sparkle in her eyes,
Like stars and making me wonder:
As to where I had seen her?
In this long journey of life!
Amidst tears, she smiled at me,
And walked away uttering nothing to me;
Left alone in a trance, I was in,
With the sorrowful smile, piercing my heart;
For a long long time to remember,
And about the Mysterious Woman to wonder!
